Limits

  • Renewable Energy Systems (RES): Up to $1,000,000 or 50% of total project costs

  • Energy Efficiency Improvements (EEI): Up to $500,000 or 50% of total project costs

Eligibility

Eligible Projects

Renewable Energy Systems (RES)

  • Solar Generation

  • Wind Generation

  • Biomass

    • Biodiesel and Ethanol

    • Anaerobic Digesters

    • Solid Fuels

  • Geothermal

  • Hydropower (below 30 megawatts)

  • Hydrogen

  • Ocean (tidal, current, thermal) generation.

Energy Efficiency Improvements (EEI)

  • High Efficiency HVAC Systems (heating, ventilation and air conditioning)

  • Insulation

  • Lighting

  • Cooling or refrigeration units

  • Doors and windows

  • Smart Thermostats and other energy management systems

  • Electric, solar or gravity pumps for sprinkler pivots

  • Switching from a diesel to electric irrigation motor

  • Replacement of energy-inefficient equipment

Important Considerations

  • Do not incur project expenses until you have received a complete application letter or grant award.

  • Applications are accepted on a year-round basis; however, only complete applications with environmental reviews compete in funding cycles.
